Meeting Acoustic and Thermal Performance Targets

Multi-family residential projects require strict acoustic isolation between individual units to ensure occupant comfort. Wood-based panels play a key role in these sound-dampening floor assemblies.

Builders often create layered floor structures by combining high-density particleboards, structural plywood, and rubber isolation clips. This floating floor design absorbs impact sounds, like footsteps or dropped objects, preventing noise from traveling through the structural frame and helping developers satisfy Japan's demanding multi-family acoustic codes.
